Add a balcony or terrace to your project and enjoy a pleasant, personalized outdoor space:
Step 1: Draw the balcony perimeter
- Make sure you're in 2D view (button at the bottom of the screen).
- Click the "Build" button in the toolbar on the left side of the screen.
- Click the "Draw an outdoor area" submenu (tree icon)
- Draw the outline of your balcony: click to place the points of its perimeter. Make sure to close the area by connecting to a wall or clicking on your starting point.
- If needed, you can raise or lower your balcony in the following steps
Step 2: Customize the balcony material
- Click on the zone you just created to select it.
- Click the "Edit" icon (pencil) in the action bar (below the cursor).
- The editing panel opens on the right.
- In the "Surface" section, click the material selector.
- Select the material for your balcony (wood, tile, stone, etc.)
Step 3: Adjust the balcony height
If you want to create a raised or sunken balcony:
- Switch to 3D view (button at the bottom of the screen).
- Click on the balcony surface.
- In the action bar (below the cursor), click the "Elevation" button.
- Different buttons appear. The buttons at the center of the zone let you raise the balcony or sink it below ground level. Hold your click while dragging up or down to raise or lower the surface.
Note: When in "Elevation" mode, the buttons on the sides of the zone let you tilt the ground surface. This is not typically relevant for a balcony, but it can be useful for adjusting terrain levels.
Step 4: Add railings and furniture
- Click the catalog button (book icon) in the toolbar (on the left).
- Click the "Structure & Architecture" submenu (staircase icon).
- Click the "Structural elements" submenu (geometric shape image).
- Click the "Railings" submenu.
- Click the railing of your choice and place it on the edge of your balcony. If needed, you can adjust its height: click on it, then click the button with a vertical arrow. Hold your click to raise or lower the object.
- Outdoor furniture (tables, chairs, etc.) can be found in the catalog under the "Furniture" section.
- Plants and trees can be found in the "Decorations" section of the catalog.
Important notes:
- You can create freeform shapes for custom balconies (rounded, angled, etc.)
- The balcony can be opened to the interior through French doors or sliding glass doors.
