Save time by selecting and editing multiple elements simultaneously! HomeByMe offers several ways to work with multiple selections.
Select all furniture on a floor
- Click anywhere outside your project to make sure nothing is selected.
- Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + A (or Cmd + A on Mac).
All furniture on the current floor is now selected! You can move, duplicate, or delete them all at the same time.
Selection with the mouse (drag and drop)
You'll draw a selection zone. All objects within this zone will be selected at once.
- Click anywhere outside your project to make sure nothing is selected.
- Hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard.
- Click where the selection zone should start, then hold the click and move your cursor to draw a rectangle.
- All objects within this rectangular zone are selected at once.
- You can move them with the mouse or keyboard using one of the methods above.
Note:
- If you're using a Mac, replace the "Ctrl" key with the "Command" key.
- This method only works with furniture and decorative elements. To select multiple walls, you'll need to select them one by one using the method below.
Selection with the keyboard
- Click anywhere outside your project to make sure nothing is selected.
- Hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard.
- Click on objects one by one. Clicking on the same object again will deselect it.
- When you're happy with your selection, release the Ctrl key.
- Your objects are selected — you can move them with the mouse or keyboard using one of the methods above.
Note:
- If you're using a Mac, replace the "Ctrl" key with the "Command" key.
What you can do with a multiple selection
Once several objects are selected, many actions become available in the toolbar (below your cursor):
- Delete: remove all selected elements at once (Delete key).
- Duplicate: create copies of your selection (Ctrl + D).
- Copy/Paste: copy your selection to reuse it elsewhere (Ctrl + C then Ctrl + V). You can even paste your selection into another project (if it's open in another browser tab, for example) or onto another floor.
- Group: create a group from 2 or more objects to move them together.
- Ungroup: separate a set of furniture you previously grouped together.
- Turn lights on/off: control the lighting of multiple light fixtures simultaneously
Edit shared properties
When you select multiple objects, the editing panel on the right displays the shared properties if they're similar objects. You can edit these settings for all objects at the same time!
Note: If values differ between objects, they'll be described as "Mixed values". You can edit them to apply the change to all selected objects.
Deselect all
To clear your selection and start fresh, simply press the Esc key.
